Goodbye Wetjet 432

The end of the Webjet 432 has come.  Last weekend my Dad cut it into pieces and threw it out.  After looking through the internet and talking to a lot of jet ski dealers, it was decided the best thing to do was to get rid of it for good.  I still have the engine (in non working condition) and some other parts laying around.  Contact me if you need parts for one.

After talking to a few repair shops that actually knew what they were, each one recommended not putting any more money into one.  They noted that the costs to repair them are more than buying a used jet ski that actually works.  One thing that was said is that the engines in these are VERY BAD.  Apparently they seize very easily and are so thin that it can seize, cool down, and then actually work for a couple more days.  If you are looking at getting one for cheap, just pass because if you do manage to get it to work it will cost you a lot more than it is worth.

hello i just bought a lot of 5 1988 wetjets they all run but one and it needs a motor can u let me know what you have and how much you want for all of it. thanks mike

  • By James, 9/28/2005 @ 12:34 AM

The motor itself seized up on me earlier this summer so the best mine would help you with is for taking the two apart and hoping there are enough good parts to get one motor working. More than likely this will no work out. Let me know if you’re still interested and I’ll go through what I have and come up with a price. From my experience over the last 3 years with mechanics and forums online, you should probably just pitch or part out the one not working cause it WILL cost more to fix it than just buying a used one in working condition. The engines were very cheap and heated up quickly. Once the engine has been bored-out, it stops working even quicker.

hi, i got a wetjet 432 with a Brut engine, have you got a flywheel for me? or do you know of where i can get one? one of the magnets has shattered on it & a few broken teeth on it.in at Lands End. Cornwall.UK
    thanks, Chris..

  • By James, 3/5/2006 @ 1:42 AM

I do have the entire engine still. It was cut out of the hull before the wet jet was cut down. At the present time, I do not have time to look at the engine and pull the part. I was planning on doing that this spring. For getting parts, your really only option is to look on ebay. You can look on boards, but after looking for 4 – 5 months, my experience is that you will only find other people looking for parts. You can send me an email if you like and I can send you an email when I get time to tear the engine down. You can also leave a comment on this with your email, and I’ll write it down and delete the comment.

Did by any chance you keep the windshield from the Wetjet ?? Let me know as I’d love to have it..Thanks,
    B.Smith

  • By James, 5/1/2006 @ 10:03 PM

Sorry, the windshield was the first thing to go. The only things that I have left from it now are the carborator and the gas tank. The carborator wasn’t even the correct one as it’s a 2 year old model that is an upgraded version that used to be used.

I have a wetjet and today, the steering rod broke. You wouldn’t happen to have one, do you? That’s the thing that attaches to the jet nozzle.

  • By James, 6/25/2006 @ 10:31 AM

Nope, don’t have any more parts for the Wetjet 432.

  • By Allen, 6/26/2006 @ 1:52 AM

I was wondering if anyone had a Ing system for a wetjet? I have one engine is good but can’t get any spark out of the plugs. The guy I got it off unpluged eveything and cut wires. So If you have a Ing system please let me know. My E mail address is mccaffreyar@3fssg.usmc.mil

I’m looking for a starter for my Brut engine, which is in my WetJet 432. If you want to sell just the starter, I’d be interested.

    Tim

  • By James, 8/18/2006 @ 3:07 PM

I have no parts to the WetJet anymore. They’re all gone. I have heard that the starter in the WetJet was the same in the early model (89 – 90) Sea Doos, but I have not been able to verify that fact.

  • By Brian, 8/27/2006 @ 9:54 PM

New Website for all wetjet parts models and years
    http://www.wetjetparts.com

  • By James, 8/28/2006 @ 10:08 AM

The link above looks like it might be the great place that all the Wetjet parts people have been looking for. I just looked around the site and I think it might turn out well for everyone needed parts for these, “Not to sure what the prices are though”. I did notice that the only models you can look around at are from ‘94 – ‘97, but on their main page it says this, “If you have a pre-MasterCraft WetJet we do have the jet pump parts for all model years and Brut engine parts for 1988-93 models.” Good luck to everyone.

    I need a wiring diagram for a 1989 wet jet 432

  • By James, 8/22/2007 @ 9:46 AM

For the carb, I had the same problem when I rebuilt mine. The carbs are Mikuni BN38. I actually had installed a Mikuni SuperBN38 on mine and it worked great. I had to do a little changes on the choke cable because it didn’t align up perfectly though.

  • By abel, 9/22/2007 @ 12:50 PM

I found wetjetparts.com on the net just last week. I’ve ordered an oil injector pump and some filters. They should be here by Tuesday. I called this place by phone and Dennis told me they have lots of parts in stock. He also sent me a download of some technical info. In the few weeks I’ve had my bikes I’ve learned quite a bit about them. I now know why these engines keep seizing up. let me know if i can be of any help.

hey, i have a 1986 wetjet 432 Brut engine. it worked in good condition until it sat and sat in my yard for sale one year and then it just sat for a couple of years. i just dragged it out recently and tore the Mukini carb out and cleaned it and changed the gas in the tank. it turns over good, but, i dont think it turns fast enough to make the magnetos make a spark. (it turns fast when i check it with the plugs out because the compression isnt there). Could you have a pointer or something because it sounds like you have a little more outside recources than me. Also if you have a Schematic plans for the wirking box that would be killer. But yah i dont think it turns over fast enough with the plugs in it because of the compression.

    “Thanks A Bunch”

I am the proud purchaser of a 1988 432 Wet Jet but after reading this sight I think I will change my mind.
Problem I have is inconsistant or no spark.
Because of this, the engine turn over but will not fire.
Compression seems OK but don’t know where to begin on spark problem.
Any suggtions, wiring diagrams, or parts locations would be appreciated.
